PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A domestic violence suspect has been indicted on multiple charges after allegedly leading authorities on a chase that escalated into a police shooting in August.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced the indictment of 37-year-old Joseph Anthony Ortiz on Friday.

On Aug. 10, Ortiz allegedly forced his way into an apartment and threatened two victims with a knife before trying to drag one of them into his car. When officers arrived at the scene, investigators say he sped away and led police on a chase along the U.S. 60 freeway before getting out of his car in an attempt to run on foot.
