WASHINGTON — At least five protesters have been arrested at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility near Chicago while Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem watched, days after agents caused outrage in the city during a raid on an apartment building in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood.
According to reporting by CNN , at least five people were arrested outside the Broadview ICE facility about 10 miles out of the city. The protesters were charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and resisting and obstruction, the Cook County Sheriff's Office told the outlet.
The protesters were part of a larger crowd that had gathered to demonstrate against ICE raids in Illinois, as Noem visited the facility.
