KINGSTON, N.Y. — Two youths from the Kingston area were selected as the local champions of the 2025 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge and have earned the right to compete at the district level.
Darrenae Shelley-Coq was the 11-year-old girls champion and Omari Grundberg was the12-year-old boys champion.
Kingston Council 275 sponsored the competition at Kingston Point Park on Sept. 21.
All youths ages 9 to 14 were eligible to participate.
The two winners will compete in the district competition to be held in early October at a time and location to be determined.
There will be regional, downstate and state championships scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2 at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Originally Published: October 3, 2025 at 3:27 PM EDT
