Fall temperatures return next week

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - As we move into Friday evening, it’s still feeling much more like late summer across southern Wisconsin than early October. Highs this afternoon pushed into the mid and upper 80s, and a few spots along the Wisconsin Dells or closer to the Illinois border even flirted with 90. That’s over 20 degrees warmer than average for this point in the season, and today is just the first in which high temperature records were broken for many of our communities.

The heat isn’t leaving just yet. Saturday will be a repeat performance, with another day in the upper 80s and breezy southerly winds in the afternoon. Records will again be broken, so we’ll be keeping an eye on that. Nights won’t offer
