MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Southern Wisconsin felt more like July than October on Friday, as Madison set a new daily high temperature record.
At Prairie Athletic Club in Sun Prairie, the unusual warmth means families will get one last weekend outdoors. General Manager Peg Michaels said the club will keep its family pool open Saturday and Sunday, something she can’t recall happening in years.
“Pretty much every day, once Labor Day comes, people ask us, how long do you think the pools are going to be open for? And we just kind of say, until the weather tells us differently,” Michaels said. “But this weekend, we’re actually going to have our family pool open also Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 5. And that is probably a first in many, many years.”
