HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point Police Officer Nick Coleman, 25, is battling Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer and the community is coming together to support him with a 5K fundraiser this weekend.

The Fight with Nick 5K will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Rockers Baseball stadium, 301 N. Elm St. Registration is $40 per person, with proceeds going to Coleman and his wife as he continues treatment.

Coleman has completed 12 cycles of treatment, including blood transfusions, with six more rounds planned.

A four year veteran of the High Point Police Department patrol division, Coleman is known for his dedication to the community he now relies on for support. All proceeds will go to Coleman and his wife.
