BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - On Friday, the Job Service Workforce Center in Bismarck hosted an event to help former inmates transition to life after incarceration.

Local organizations, including Ministry on the Margins and Job Service N.D., collaborated to streamline and share resources for men and women transitioning back into society.

“Reentry is so key in keeping our communities safe, because people, when they’re more connected to their community, they have the help and support that they need. That’s public safety,” said Reentry Program Manager Robyn Schmalenberger, with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Some people currently incarcerated at a low-security prison also attended the Bis-Man Reentry Resource Share event to learn how to live productively after prison.
