NELSON COUNTY, Ky. —

Officials in Nelson County are still in disbelief after another major hit from Mother Nature poses a threat to the county.

The county's emergency management director, Brad Metcalf, said a portion of the Rolling Fork River is blocked almost completely by debris.

Most of the debris consists of trees, logs, and brush that washed into the river after historic flooding covered Nelson County earlier this year.

"I guess an easy way to explain this is it's almost like a beaver dam, but on a much, much larger scale," Metcalf said. "So it's almost cut off the flow of water to the point that on the other side, there's hardly any water, and it's pinned up behind it."
