With the news of yet another oil project proposal being floated around for the North Coast of B.C., Prince Rupert's Mayor is ensuring the city and region that it is far too early to give the idea much thought until a concrete project is fully in place.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced on Oct. 1 that her province plans to develop a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to become a "world-leading energy superpower" by building a new bitumen pipeline to the northwest coast of B.C.
Prince Rupert Mayor Herb Pond is loving all the attention the city is receiving, but is not quite ready to jump on board with Smith's pipe dreams just yet.
"If an oil pipeline ever does make it past the social, environmental and regulatory rigour needed to be viable, we will be ready," Pond said. "But, it is t
