Green light for micro bar plans at Indian takeaway business

An Indian takeaway has been granted fresh permission to add a new micro bar by dividing its current retail unit into two. Indian Cottage, situated on a shopping parade at Enfield Chase, Guisborough , successfully sought approval from Redcar and Cleveland Council for works which will involve alterations to the front and rear of the property.

The business has had a long-standing restaurant element, but in recent years has concentrated instead on takeaway meals. A design and access statement submitted to the local planning authority, which outlined the scope of the planning works, said the takeaway and bar would be divided by a solid block wall with different access points for both from the front and back.

An old entrance into what was the restaurant would also be blocked off. The front
