ST PAUL, Minn. — A ribbon-tying marathon is underway in St. Paul, in an effort to honor the victims of the Annunciation School shooting on both sides of the Mississippi River during this weekend's Twin Cities Marathon.
"Over the last week and a half is when I really decided, okay, I'm going to do the whole stretch and see how far we can get," said Kristen Lyrek, who spoke to KARE11 on Friday as she continued her mission to tie blue and green ribbons along the entire St Paul side of the marathon course.
Lyrek, who lives in St Paul, took the baton from neighbors in Minneapolis, who have spent the past month cutting and tying ribbons throughout Minneapolis as a way to honor the victims of the shooting and everyone impacted by it.
