A magistrate judge released a D.C. police sergeant accused of fleeing from federal officers earlier this week .

Sgt. Montez Clark waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday. But first the prosecutor asked the judge that Clark be held without bond, saying he was arrested in the company of two known gang members. One of them had just spent time in prison for gun possession, prosecutor said.

Court documents identify the two men as Russell Campbell – a rapper known as “Gizwop” – and Sakou Yates. Both have criminal records.
