BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Drought conditions across Alabama are getting worse prompting warnings from state officials, including the Alabama Forestry Commission, which has issued a Fire Danger Advisory.

The latest drought monitor shows almost the whole state is abnormally dry, or in a moderate to severe drought, with some counties even seeing extreme conditions.

Our First Alert meteorologists say October is typically our driest month of the year. On top of an already dry August and September, they said it will take around a week of consistent rain to get us out of this drought.

But right now, that’s not in the forecast.
