LINCOLN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Road work on I-20 is causing some major delays. That’s because ALDOT is doing repairs on the westbound side of the Riverside bridge between Oxford and Pell City.

Lincoln Police Chief Scott Bonner warning drivers trying to bypass I-20 westbound through the city saying, be careful how you drive.

“Hopefully I won’t have to wait too long. If not, I’ll just have to deal with it like I do when I deal with it in Georgia,” said Darius Moore from Birmingham.

People traveling I-20 westbound say the delays have been frustrating and time consuming. On Thursday, the Alabama Department of Transportation shut down one of the westbound lanes over the Riverside Bridge, leaving those unprepared sitting for hours.
