North Dakota’s regular pheasant season opens Saturday, Oct. 11. Here’s what you need to know.

Saturday, Oct. 11, through Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026.

In accordance with state law, nonresidents are not allowed to hunt on Game and Fish Department wildlife management areas or Conservation PLOTS (Private Land Open To Sportsmen) areas from Oct. 11-17. Exception: Nonresidents hunting on PLOTS land they own.

North Dakota’s two-day youth pheasant season is Oct. 4-5. Legally licensed residents and nonresidents 15 and younger can hunt rooster pheasants statewide. An adult at least 18 years of age must accompany the youth pheasant hunter in the field but may not carry a firearm. Daily bag limit and all other regulations are the same as the regular pheasant season.
