BROOK PARK, Ohio – A Cleveland man, 54, entered East Park Retirement Community, 6360 Elmdale Road, and a stole a lockbox containing $465, a five-tier wooden shelf and a credit card.
At least two East Park workers witnessed the incident, which occurred at about 4 a.m. Sept. 19. One worker said he noticed a light in the nursing director’s office.
The worker then saw the Cleveland man exit the office, wheeling out the shelf and lock box on a dolly. The worker recognized the man because he was a former East Park employee who had been fired in June.
The second worker saw the man take the wooden shelf from the office.
The man may have entered East Park Retirement Community through a door that, if not forcefully shut, could have been left unlocked by workers.
