SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on the Ohio Turnpike.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. Friday in Townsend Township in Sandusky County, according to a press release.
According to troopers, a motorcyclist headed eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike was hit by an SUV that was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified as Desmond Thomas, 37, of Melvindale, Michigan.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
No one has been charged.
The eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike were closed for several hours after the crash.
