SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said that two people have been arrested following a homicide that happened Friday night.
Deputies said they responded to a shooting at a residence on Blue Gill Way in the Woodruff community of Spartanburg County.
Upon arrival, deputies said they found 21-year-old Aaliyah Simmons suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Simmons died on the scene.
Deputies said that following an investigation, Angel Marie Willis, 19, was charged with murder and Jorge Armando Cano Jr., 24, was charged with accessory after the fact.
Investigators determined that Willis and Cano arrived at the residence with the intent to fight one of Simmons’ friends. During the fight, Willis fatally shot Simmons.
