WALHALLA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The City of Walhalla Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for customers on Saturday.
The advisory affects customers along Westminster Highway from Mountain Road up to Kawana Trail following the restoration of a water line that was struck and damaged by a contractor.
Officials said that crews have completed the necessary repairs and restored service, but there is a possibility of bacterial contamination due to the loss of water pressure.
As a precaution, officials are advising residents in the affected area to boil water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, cooking or brushing teeth. Water does not need to be boiled for bathing or laundry.
This advisory will remain in effect for approximately 24 hours or until testing conf
