APEX, N.C. (WNCN) -- Police in Apex said a "proactive" crackdown on "criminal activity" led to several drug arrests and one gun arrest during two days heading into the weekend.

The first bust happened Thursday night during an operation with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, according to an Apex Police Department news release.

Officers said detectives "seized a trafficking amount of cocaine, along with felony-level quantities of Schedule II and Schedule IV pills, from a known local drug dealer."

Josiah Jamaal Robinson, 24, of Glaston Court in Apex, was arrested at the Shell gas station on East Williams Street at U.S. 1, according to arrest records.

Robinson was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule IV controlled
