Woodbridge police officers rescued four people from second-floor apartment fire early Saturday, an official said.
At least three second-floor apartments above a business on the 1200 block of St. Georges Avenue were on fire when police arrived just after 2:55 a.m., Woodbridge police Capt. Brian Murphy said.
Although the original call indicated everyone was out safely, police found four people still trapped.
Officers got all four out through windows, Murphy said.
One resident was brought to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The other three were checked at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The fire remains under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious, Murphy said.
