ABBEVILLE – McCormick traveled to Abbeville in search of its first win of the season. However, Abbeville, eager to rebound from its second loss last week, held firm and dominated, cruising to a 56–0 victory.

Nine different players carried the ball for Abbeville, combing for 235 yards on 27 carries.

“Had a good effort all the way around, offense and defense. Still a lot of work to do.” Nickles said.

Friday’s result marked the sixth straight time Nickles’ squad downed McCormick by at least five touchdowns.

“We’ve had probably the strongest, worst, hardest schedule going this far in the state, most likely in 1A, I know, but it’s brighter days,” said McCormick offensive coordinator Dedrick Williams, who filled in for coach Leroy Collier.
