CASS COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - A 16-year-old boy with autism was found dead in a Cass County lake this afternoon after he was reported missing earlier this morning.

Police say they were called around 9 a.m. to Willow Shores Campground off U.S. 12 in Porter Township after family members reported that Kyle McMannis had walked away from their camper.

Multiple first responder agencies, a MedFlight helicopter, a drone team and a K-9 were called in to help search for McMannis.

Police say the K-9 alerted her handler that McMannis had gone into Baldwin Lake.

According to police, a drone located McMannis under the water just before 3:30 p.m. and a dive team recovered his body.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
