ST PAUL, Minn. — Hundreds of families gathered in St. Paul on Saturday for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon’s annual family-friendly events, held just one day before thousands of runners will take on the full 26.2-mile marathon.
While adults prepared for race day, Saturday focused on inspiring the next generation of marathoners and offering moments of levity for parents and kids alike.
Children dashed along the course in a variety of events, cheered on by friends and families. Some tiny competitors needed a push or a carry from parents, while others forged ahead undeterred.
Not every child was enthusiastic—one toddler princess insisted on being carried, while a few others showed more interest in observing than running.
