ELKINS, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Mountain State Forest Festival in Elkins drew thousands of attendees this weekend, featuring more than 100 acts, trucks, classic cars and floats in one of the largest parades in the state.
Governor Patrick Morrisey was among the several elected officials who attended the festival, highlighting its significance in the region. The event requires nearly a year of preparation, which Lisa Shaffer, the festival's director general, told 12 News more about.
"So many people don't realize that we have been working on this for almost a year," Shaffer said. "As soon as this festival ends, the next group of folks and volunteers will begin planning for next year and it's just amazing."
