The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update regarding their Warm Home Discount Scheme, which provides a one-off £150 reduction on electricity bills for eligible recipients. The department has cautioned about fraudsters telephoning individuals and requesting them to apply for the discount.

However, the £150 credit will be automatically added to people's electricity accounts. The X post stated: "If you are eligible for the Warm Home Discount, the £150 credit will be automatically applied to your electricity account If you get a call asking you to apply for the discount, it's a scam."
