OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Halloween is just weeks away!
Decorations and costumes are already on store shelves and you may notice some spookier prices this year because of tariffs.
The National Retail Federation projects consumers will spend a record $13.1 billion this year on costumes, candy, décor and even greeting cards. Costumes remain the biggest expense, totaling about $4.3 billion.
One Halloween shop in Oklahoma City had to shut down because of rising costs and tariffs.
"Some people come for their costumes every single year, so it's disheartening to have them come in and to look so disappointed to see that we're not open this year," said Tamara Crawford, Halloween Warehouse OKC.
