US President Donald Trump has provided a major update on the rollout of his Gaza peace plan, bringing the release of the remaining 48 Israeli hostages and an end to the conflict one step closer.

Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to reveal Israel had “agreed to the initial withdrawal line”, with the ceasefire to take immediate effect when Hamas confirms this has taken place.

“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas,” the US President said.

“When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE.
