Among unicorns, a line of stuffed animals and a purple dreamcatcher, the phrase hangs on a wall in Evelyn Baugh’s bedroom.

The concept of hope isn’t a novel one.

But what happens when you feel like it’s being lost?

For Evelyn, 10, it meant taking action for her community.

Hearts have been heavy in the Grand Blanc community this week.

It’s the place where a gunman opened fire and set The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ablaze, leading to the death of four people and leaving several others with scars both seen and unseen.

The act, which police have said was perpetrated by Thomas Jacob Sanford, has shattered the innocence of those in the home of the Bobcats.
