Michigan’s hockey team picked up Saturday right where it left off from Friday’s season-opening 11-1 win over Mercyhurst.
The 12th-ranked Wolverines outshot the Lakers 51-11 and rolled to a 7-0 victory to complete the two-game sweep at Yost Ice Arena.
After scoring three goals Friday, sophomore forward and 2025 first-round pick of the Penguins Will Horcoff had two more goals Saturday. Both came on the power play as Michigan finished 4 for 6 with the man advantage.
Horcoff was one of six players to record multiple points and one of 12 to find the scoresheet. Freshmen forwards and second-round NHL draft selections Cole McKinney and Malcolm Spence each had a goal and an assist for their second-straight multi-point games.
