The families of Assamese expatriates linked to the tragic death of cultural icon Zubeen Garg have broken their silence. The mothers of Tonmoy Phukan and Wajed Ahmed, two of the eight Assamese based in Singapore who were present on the yacht during the incident, spoke to the media on Sunday, expressing both sorrow and a strong demand for justice.

“I have not spoken to Tonmoy recently,” said Tonmoy Phukan’s mother in an emotional statement. “Just before Zubeen’s visit to Singapore, he had mentioned “Zubeen da is coming”.
