ARMHERST, MASS –– Western Michigan football’s defense is becoming a true problem for opponents.

For a second consecutive week, the Broncos leaned on a dynamite defensive effort –– which included five sacks and another takeaway –– to claim their third straight victory, stifling Massachusetts for a 21-3 road win on Saturday at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

The Broncos’ (3-3, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) defense limited UMass to just 260 total yards, led by Houston transfer Nadame Tucker’s pair of sacks and Ferris State transfer Sefa Saipaia Jr.’s team-high nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.

During its three-game winning streak, WMU has allowed just 10 points per game.
