The new season of Saturday Night Live premiered on Oct. 4 and hit the ground running by taking a shot at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

During the cold open for season 51 of the long-running show , Colin Jost stepped out from behind the Weekend Update desk to make a rare appearance in a sketch.

The Grymes Hill native broke into an impression of Hegseth, tearing into a room full of fictional military members after an introduction that promised the group of generals: “You have dedicated your lives to defending this nation, and as a reward you will now be yelled at by a former Fox News host.”

As Hegseth, Jost berated the military for being overweight and said to laughs that the military will now “adhere to the highest male standard that has been set by our President Donald J. Trump.”
