AKRON, Ohio (WJW) -- A man who was reportedly caught in the crossfire of a shooting has died in Akron, police said in a statement this weekend.
Police were called to the 800 block of West Market Street for reports of shot fired in the area around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, police said the found a 25-year-old man who had been shot. He was quickly taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General but died from his injuries in the hospital.
Police said the man was "struck unintentionally" when two "unknown suspects" were shooting at one another.
“On behalf of the Akron Police Department, our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life," Akron Police Chief Brian Harding said in a statement. "No one deserves to lose
