Drivers told to avoid area after a busy Glasgow road near shoppng centre is closed by crash

Glasgow drivers have been advised to avoid an area in the East End following a crash.

Police have closed a road close to the Forge Shopping Centre and sealed off the scene due to the road traffic collision.

A Glasgow City Council spokesperson said: "Gallowgate between A728 Clyde Gateway and Society Street is currently closed to traffic due to a road traffic collision.

"Police Scotland is on location. Road users are advised to avoid the area and consider alternative routes."

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
