Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has denounced “outside individuals” responsible for an attack that left a police cruiser on fire in Boston on Sunday morning.

On Sunday morning, two men were arrested when a crowd of 100 people lit a police cruiser on fire using fireworks on the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Tremont Street, according to police.

“The outside individuals who came into our city to cause disorder and brought dangerous behavior here will be prosecuted,” Wu said during a press conference at the Roslindale Parade. “We are asking public’s help for any information to be able to do that as quickly as possible.”

Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox shared that the incident reportedly started in the city of Randolph, but is part of a national problem.
