High pressure sitting just off the Virginia coast is extending westward across the eastern U.S., bringing an easterly breeze into Alabama today. Winds may be a bit gusty at times thanks to a tighter pressure gradient around the ridge. However, rainfall amounts look light and won’t do much to ease the ongoing drought.
