EAST MOLINE, Ill. -- It came down to the wire for the Quincy Blue Devils on Friday night against United Township as it hoped to avoid a second Western Big 6 Conference defeat in a row.

QHS did just that with Mason Dent hammering in a one-yard run with 3:49 to put the Blue Devils back on top and eventually defeat UT 23-21.

"We really ran the football well tonight," said QHS head coach Rick Little. "The run game was really involved tonight."

The Blue Devils had a 17-game WB6 winning streak snapped last week in a disappointing 39-0 loss to Moline last Friday, and had a much-needed win this Friday.
