LEWISTOWN, Mo. -- It was not the night the Highland Cougars were looking for.
The Cougars hosted Clarence Cannon Conference rival Centralia on Friday evening, falling to the Panthers 54-12.
Highland scored two touchdowns late in the game -- a 86-yard run by Chris Gaus and 13-yard pass from Dawson Hedges to Porter Peters.
Gaus finished with 11 carries for 129 yards and a score.
Up next for Highland (0-6) is a road game against CCC rival Macon (3-3) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10.
