A trip to the seaside may seem like a strictly summertime activity. However, Scotland's coastline looks just as beautiful during the moody autumn months.
All around the country, there are plenty of quaint fishing villages that would make for the ideal break. While there is no one perfect staycation destination, one unique Aberdeenshire village was previously named among the "prettiest" in Scotland.
In July, The Times published a list of "25 of the prettiest village mini breaks in the UK". Among the Scottish destinations that was included on the list is Pennan.
Pennan is a small village that is comprised of a harbour and a single row of homes. Situated around 40 miles from Aberdeen , it is renowned for its peaceful and unique atmosphere.
