Like many Canberrans, Ibrahim Mohammed and Khadija Omar are feeling the pinch of high costs and hope it will ease soon.
The Greenway couple, who have lived in the territory for seven years, appreciate how safe the city is and the opportunities it provides their two young children.
"It is expensive," Ms Omar said.
"[I hope for the future] to have a good job, to have a good education for my children, and I hope the living costs become low."
Canberrans have the lowest levels of wellbeing in six years but are still doing better than the rest of the country, the University of Canberra's latest Living Well in the ACT Region Survey has found.
