Srinagar, Oct 6: The long-pending construction of the Poonch–Tangmarg road, a crucial link between Pir Panjal and north Kashmir, is finally expected to move forward after nearly a decade. Once completed, the road is projected to reduce travel time between Poonch and Tangmarg by three to four hours, significantly improving connectivity for local residents and boosting regional mobility.

According to reliable sources, the Union Defence Ministry has sanctioned the project, and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is expected to begin construction once all necessary formalities are completed. The project has gained momentum through the combined efforts of the Defence Ministry, BRO, and Anantnag–Rajouri Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad.
