EUGENE, Ore. – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of West 13th Avenue and Polk Street sent one of the drivers to the hospital with injuries, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said that police responded just after 2 p.m. on Oct. 3 to the crash, which involved a Kia Sportage and a Chrysler Pacifica. Power lines were also involved in the crash and the roof of the Kia had to be removed so that the driver could be extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital, police said. Traffic was closed from Taylor Street to Polk Street and a traffic signal outage promoted a response from work crews with the City of Eugene Public Works and Eugene Water and Electric Board.
