Our next big cold front arrives by mid-week with rain chances through Wednesday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Increasing clouds tonight with a stray shower possible. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s with a light wind.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a passing shower or downpour in Knoxville and across the valley. Pockets of widespread rain are likely on the Cumberland Plateau by afternoon. Highs will range from the low 70s on the Plateau to 80 or so in drier areas east of Knoxville. Winds will be southwest at 5-10 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT RAIN/STORMS: The main round of rain or storms will come through overnight Tuesday before sunrise Wednesday morning with lows in the 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds will linger with highs in the low 70s and a passing downpour. Lows will drop into the low to mid 50s.
