HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — A 21-year-old Arkansas man has been sentenced to life in prison for the death of an 18-year-old at a post-prom party.
According to authorities, a Phillips County jury found Donterious Stephens guilty of first-degree murder on Friday, October 3, 2025. He received an additional 15 years for firearm enhancement.
Stephens' conviction comes after Arkansas State Police conducted an investigation into the incident that initially happened on April 20, 2024.
The deadly incident happened outside of a party following Helena-West Helena's Central High School prom.
During the post-prom gathering, 18-year-old Lorenzo Harrison III — a senior at CHS — was shot and killed at the scene by Stephens.
