CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after a fatal shooting near an east Charlotte elementary school, according to CMPD.

Police say the shooting happened around 4pm on Barrington Drive near Devonshire Elementary School.

Officials say the shooting did not take place on the school’s property.
