NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Newly released 911 recordings shed light on the tense moments before an Edgefield County bus driver was pulled over and arrested while transporting elementary school students.
On Sept. 25, Janice Waldorf was driving a bus carrying Merriwether Elementary second graders back from a field trip when parents on board grew alarmed.
A caller told dispatchers they feared Waldorf was intoxicated after watching the bus swerve along I-20.
“Every adult is scared right now because we think the bus driver’s intoxicated and this bus is full of kids,” one caller said during the 12-minute call.
