LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - While No. 9 Texas Tech gears up to host Kansas (4-2) on Saturday, Texas Tech head football coach Joey McGuire says the Jayhawks program is greatly improved from previous years- when they frequently stood at last place in the Big 12, because of what Lance Leipold has done since taking over as head coach in 2021.

“Lance has done a phenomenal job. We’ve all been around what Kansas football used to be after (Mark) Mangino. Mangino really had it going, and then it turned into what it was and what it was not good football.
