NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway following a crash in Naugatuck on Saturday.

At around 6:14 p.m. officers were called to the area of Andrew Mountain Road near Yorktown Road after a report of a crash involving a motorcycle, the police department said.

When crews arrived, they found a motorcycle had gone off the roadway.

Officials said the operator suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

A preliminary report indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Andrew Mountain Road when he failed to make a sharp right-hand curve.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

No further details were released.
