A Port Allen woman was killed in a car crash Monday morning after getting t-boned at an intersection in West Baton Rouge, according to Louisiana State Police.
Police say Janet Tchorlian, 80, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Trax southbound on La. 983, when, at around 9:10 am, she ran a stop sign at its intersection with U.S. 190.
According to state police, she drove directly into the path of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on LA Highway 983, which struck the Trax on the driver's side. Police say Tchorlian was transported to a hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Silverado received minor injuries. Police say routine toxicology tests were performed on both drivers.
